How To Wear Florals If You Don’t Like Florals

Every time I hear “spring florals” all I can hear in my head is Meryl Streep, of Miranda in the Devil Wears Prada, say, “Spring florals… groundbreaking.”

Although florals for spring aren’t anything new, how they’re worn is new and constantly changing. Me, I’m not a huge fan of the floral print per say, but with such an on-trend, hot commodity, how can I not incorporate some into my spring wardrobe? I’m always ready to try something new!

A couple of tips on wearing florals {in new ways} if you’re not totally crazy about the floral print all comes down to subtle prints. When you’re starting out with almost any new venture, you want to dip your toes in the water, not jump in with both feet.

Dip your toes in florals this season by picking out subtle, lighter prints. A neutral outfit with small floral prints is one way to do this. And since florals are such a bold statement, pairing the print with some neutrals will balance it out leaving the print subtle but still an expression. You can also try adding florals to unexpected areas of your outfit like a printed purse or statement shoes. Dolce and Gabbana has some ah-mazing floral prints happening this season. However you choose to wear florals, breaking up the prints into smaller pieces is the perfect way to dip your toe in the on-trend style.
