Let’s Talk About CBD Oil {aka Weed}

“Something I’ve been dabbling in lately is CBD oil.”

I’ve found that it’s helped immensely with my anxiety so I’m really glad to hear Canada is legalizing it on October 17th. But what is CBD oil and what does it do?

It’s not what you think. Cannabidiol {CBD} is used for many common aliments: relieving pain, reducing anxiety and depression, alleviating cancer-related symptoms, reducing acne, and is even used on pets¹. I use it mainly for my anxiety but the overall benefits are great. Although I don’t suffer from anxiety attacks {I’ve only ever had two} even still, being out in overly crowded places gets my blood pumping and this has helped. I’m also a person who overthinks everything, gets into my own head, and stresses myself out, so whenever I’m feeling that way, this really helps. I like it especially because it calms me without giving me that high feeling. Tetrahydrocannabinol {THC} is the main component found in cannabis, and that’s what gives you that “high” sensation. CBD isn’t psychoactive so it has some aspects of cannabis but not all. At this time I’m not taking any medications so it’s safer to use but always smart to consult².

What’s more is I’m excited to share that I’ll be taking a trip to LA this weekend with a pretty cool company who focuses on the cannabis act as a positive, and has created different components for different sensations. And I’m really excited to learn more about this movement and the company. I personally don’t use CBD oil all the time but I do keep it nearby and use a small dosage when needed.
