This weekend Kevin and I went out to his parent’s cabin, not only for Mother’s Day, but to catch a few rays and relax: #lakelife. The past couple weeks it’s been rainy and gloomy during the week but as soon as Friday hits it’s nothing but sunshine and blue skies. I’m definitely not complaining. After a day of boating we had a BBQ and campfire. Kevin’s mom makes the best boozy drinks, something with Rumchata, it’s like dessert!
Kevin and I brought his mom some perennial day lilies to plant in her front garden here at the cabin. Always a good Mother’s Day gift idea since this is a gift that keeps giving, year after year. The flowers will always bloom. This is also the first year I started growing my own herbs. I hear mint is the easiest herb to grow and that it’s basically like a weed- you can’t kill it. Guess we’ll be having a lot of mint mojitos on the porch this summer. This year I spent some quality time with my mom since I wasn’t around last year. And today I’m taking her for lunch and then ice-cream on one of our favorite areas to walk around and shop at.
We also had date night this past Friday, which was so nice- your classic dinner and a movie. We ended up seeing Avengers: Infinity War. Marvel has produced some of my favorite action movies to date- Iron Man, Deadpool, Guardians of the Galaxy… but for some reason I felt this one was a bit of a flop. Maybe it was because there was way too much going on, or maybe because I felt some parts were super cheesy but it just wasn’t my favorite. Next theatre night we’re definitely seeing A Quiet Place.
Finally, my time on Pinterest has increased substantially as we’re in the process of redoing parts of our house and planning a wedding. I find myself on it every day! If you like neutrals, check out my boards for more inspo.
